Yes, CoinField does run a credit check, as part of our Identity verification for Canadian residents only.  

(We do run a credit check however the result of this does not affect your current or future credit score).

 
We ascertain the identity of a client by referring to a Canadian credit file that has been established with Equifax. 


To be verified, the credit file details must match the name, date of birth and address provided by the client. 


Canadian clients that do not have a credit file history, must pick TWO OUT OF THREE choices from the following groups of documents in order for our dual process to be in effect (must be only in "PDF" format downloaded directly from the issuer's website, (we cannot accept digitally scanned documentation or photos).

• Record Employment

• T4

• Investment account statements (for example, RRSP, GIC)

               Utility bills, such as:

       • Cable Bill

       • Water Bill

       • Electricity Bill

       • Gas Bill

       • Residential (No Cell Phone Bills)

 

Group 2 "PDF" format downloaded directly from the issuer's website


• Insurance documents (home, auto, life)



Group 3 "PDF" format downloaded directly from the issuer's website


• Credit card statement

• Bank statement

• Loan account statement (for example. mortgage)
